Two years after announcing its $40 million (€35.4 million) accelerator fund "focused on closing the gap on some of the biggest industry challenges in the sustainability space," Bumble Bee Seafood has already achieved several of its goals, according to Leslie Hushka, its senior vice president of global corporate responsibility.

The company has so far spent $14 million (€13.8 million) on a range of initiatives focusing on plastic removal, labor rights and conservation.

"We'll start to see the spend accelerate over the next couple of years," she told IntraFish.
