Simon Smith, CEO of Young's Seafood, the UK's largest seafood processor, is leaving the position he has held for almost three years.

Smith will be appointed to the role of vice chairman of Sofina Europe, a division of Sofina Foods. The company did not provide further details regarding the timeline and reasons for the change.

Canadian group Sofina Foods acquired Young's Seafood parent Eight Fifty last year, bringing the UK's largest seafood company under Canadian ownership.

In his new role, Smith will help manage the strategic priorities of the group, with a particular focus on external customers, supplier partnerships and seafood.
