A multi-million dollar payout to settle a class action lawsuit over alleged price fixing of farmed salmon could embolden others to file similar lawsuits, according to one seafood investor.

Some of the world's largest farmed salmon suppliers -- Mowi, Leroy Seafood, Grieg Seafood, Ocean Quality, Cermaq and SalMar -- announced a settlement with US salmon buyers who alleged collusion.

The companies agreed to pay $85 million (€79 million) in compensation, plus undisclosed attorney fees.

It's the attorney fees that have investor and former fund manager Hogne Tyssoy concerned.
