The Chairman of Greenland-based supplier Polar Seafood said suspending the company's operations in Russia is a complex decision for the group, given the significant impact the move would have on its staff.

Polar Seafood, the largest privately held company in Greenland, was criticized this week by the chairman of Greenland's Demokraatit party, Jens-Frederik Nielsen, who said the company's continued operation in Russia undermines efforts to get Russia to withdraw its troops from Ukraine.

Polar Seafood Chairman Henrik Leth told IntraFish that the company has faced "pressure to act," and has slowed its Russian activities by halting shipments to the country following challenges receiving payments.
