The Chinese market, which opened to Russian fish a month and a half ago, is closing again. Russian fishing companies received a notification about the suspension of landings from March 6 in Dalian, one of the country's main ports and a key seafood processing region.

"Maritime agents of Dalian notified the group that fish shipments from Russia would be suspended from March 6 due to coronavirus restrictions," Alexander Efremov, CEO for Vladivostok-based Dobroflot Group, told IntraFish.

Qingdao, another critical port for the whitefish processing sector, also toughened anti-coronavirus measures.
