Trade body Salmon Scotland has thrown its weight behind a scathing new report that found "mistrust, dislike, and vitriol" at both an institutional and personal level between the industry, certain regulators, parts of the Scottish government and other stakeholders.

The independent report, written by Russel Griggs, a professor and former executive director of Scottish Enterprise, found the conflict is at a level he has have never seen before, making the current working relationships within the sector challenging.

"I think all of us in the sector recognize the language he has used and that's what has got to be improved, " Salmon Scotland CEO Tavish Scott told IntraFish.
