China provisionally cuts import tariffs on seafood products for 2022

Alaska pollock, salmon, and cod are among the species set to enjoy reduced rates.

China said it was making the changes for several reasons, but in regard to seafood, the move “meets the needs of the people for a better life, conforms to the consumption upgrade trend, and creates a strong atmosphere for the Beijing Winter Olympics," according to the government of China's President Xi Jinping.
