Despite once again topping the charts in the latest edition of the Coller FAIRR Protein Producer Index, aquaculture producers have been warned against resting on their laurels, with the investor network flagging a "poor understanding" of their exposure to feed risks in particular.

The award-nominated Coller FAIRR Protein Producer Index assesses the sustainability performance of 60 of the largest publicly listed animal protein producers.

While recognizing aquaculture's unique position among protein producers in investigating a "Plan B" for feed sourcing, the report states that even in aquaculture, companies are yet to implement alternatives at scale and are not driving hard enough to set targets.
