Kelly Cove Salmon, the Atlantic Canadian salmon farming division of Cooke Aquaculture, is receiving pushback related to an amendment it wants to make to its aquaculture license that would allow the company to increase its lease boundary at a farming site in Nova Scotia.

On Monday, the newly-created Nova Scotia Aquaculture Review Board held its first hearing on the application, which would extend a site located in Annapolis Basin at Rattling Beach in Digby County.

The Kelly Cove boundary amendment is the first finfish application before the review board, which adjudicates on finfish and shellfish applications for new, expanded or amended farm sites.
