A ramp up in salmon production two years in the making that hit at the same time as the global pandemic meant Australian salmon farmer Huon was "disproportionately" impacted by COVID-19 in comparison to other producers around the world.
Now the subject of a takeover bid by Brazilian meat processing heavyweight JBS Group in a deal approved by both regulators and the majority of shareholders, the company is "ready to start its new chapter", according to CEO and Founder Peter Bender.
