The ongoing supply chain crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, long-term structural issues and Brexit in the United Kingdom could drag on beyond 2023, Cold Chain Federation CEO Shane Brennan said in a video interview posted on his Linkedin page.

The message comes as UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson washes his hands of supply chain problems and tries to put the onus on businesses to solve them.

The UK seafood sector has so far largely emerged unscathed from petroleum shortages being experienced in some parts of the United Kingdom, but the crisis serves to underline cost pressures related to the continued shortage of EU truck drivers.
