Microbubble curtains firm Low O2 said it plans to open new markets for its barrier technology in all the major salmon and fish farming nations.

This comes after trials conducted by Plancton Andino, Universidad Austral de Chile, Low O2 and PSP Soluciones at the university’s Naval Hydrodynamics laboratory showed that the microbubble curtains are highly effective -- with more than 80 percent blocking efficiency-- in controlling harmful algal blooms (HAB).

The Chilean salmon industry has sporadically paid a high price for the presence of algal blooms.
