Chilean salmon farmer Salmones Camanchaca reported steep losses in the second quarter, largely from mass mortalities caused by harmful algal blooms at several of the group's farms.

Camanchaca reported a $10.6 million (€9 million) EBITDA loss in the second quarter, double the losses in the same period in 2020.

Operating revenue for the company amounted to $51 million (€43.6 million) during the quarter, which is 2 percent ahead compared with the second quarter last year.
