Brazilian seafood exporter Prime Seafood is targeting a 50 percent increase in sales this year helped by increased demand from foodservice markets overseas.

Should the Recife, Brazil-based company reach its goal, it would lift sales from $50 million (€42 million) in 2020 to $75 million (€64 million).

The company projects a 22 percent increase in export volumes to overseas markets, including the United States and China, where foodservice demand is rebounding as COVID-19 vaccination programs gather momentum.

"This market is heating up with the return of tourism, the circulation of people in countries where consumption is higher for the products that we work with," Eduardo Lobo, a partner in Prime Seafood and president of processors association ABIPESCA, told IntraFish.
