Russia's Pollock Catchers Association (PCA) has been cleared to receive Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certification for the Russian Western Bering Sea Pollock fishery, bringing 300,000 more metric tons of certified whitefish to global markets.

This comes after nine months of independent assessment by certifying body Lloyd’s Register (LR).

On July 6, Lloyd's published an update on the assessment, saying it had received no objections to its final draft report published in June, which determined the fishery meets the MSC standard and should be certified.
