Cooke Aquaculture has been unsuccessful in its attempts to quash a case concerning allegations it is misleading consumers regarding the sustainability of its True North salmon products sold in the Washington, DC market.
On June 24, a Washington DC Superior Court Judge dismissed Cooke's attempts to countermand a complaint that was filed last year against the seafood company by non-profit Animal Outlook, formerly known as Compassion Over Killing.
The Washington, DC-based nonprofit has previously attacked Cooke Aquaculture in Maine over animal welfare violations.
