Canadian authorities are considering an application from domestic salmon producer Boreal Salmon to establish a flow-through, land-based salmon farm in Chebogue Point, Yarmouth, in Nova Scotia, reports Saltwire.

The farm is estimated to involve both capital and direct investment of up to CAD 60 million (€40 million / $48 million) and could produce up to 5,500 metric tons of Atlantic salmon and/or sea trout annually. The project will be financed primarily by Chilean investors, with Canadian investors also invited to participate.
