Norwegian investment bank DNB Markets is lifting farmed salmon price estimates for the year based on projections of declining growth, a move that is poised to lift the salmon farming industry's spirits while at the same time causing further inflation headaches for buyers.

DNB Markets Analyst Alexander Aukner projected average salmon prices of between NOK 60 (€5.90/$7.20) and NOK 63 (€6.20/$7.60) per kilogram in the second half of the year, noting that the industry is expected to see a decline in supply growth that could continue from the third quarter and into mid-2022.
