Longtime seafood executive Yngve Myhre has invested in a Norwegian land-based salmon farming project alongside Brynjar Kristian Forbergskog, one of Norway's richest people.
Myhre, who has served as the CEO of SalMar and Kjell Inge Rokke's Aker Seafoods (now part of Leroy Seafood), and serves on the board of Chilean salmon farmer Nova Austral among others, will take an undisclosed stake in Gaia Salmon, a land-based salmon farming project planned for Traena, Norway.
Forberskog made his fortune as an executive and investor in transportation group Torghatten Trafikkselskap, but moved into aquaculture with an investment in Akvafuture, a Norway-based closed-containment salmon farming operation.
