Initial ex-vessel prices for Alaska's Copper River salmon are running $10 (€8.19) per pound for sockeye and $15 (€12.29) per pound for kings caught during the first Copper River salmon opener on Monday, longtime Cordova Fishermen Bill Webber told IntraFish.

Grounds prices during the fishery's first opener in 2020 at the start of the pandemic were initially in the $3 (€2.47) per pound for sockeye and $6 (€5.55) for kings. But with very little supply in 2020 and COVID impacts, spot prices in Seattle climbed to and remained relatively high at $10-$14 (€9.26-€12.96)
