Norwegian engineering company Aker Solutions -- which is currently building two large fish farming facilities for Norway Royal Salmon’s (NRS) subsidiary Arctic Offshore Farming -- believes the challenges for the offshore sector are predominantly regulation-related and in general holds far less risk than land-based projects.
The problems that have plagued the land-based sector, and the challenges around financing these ambitious projects are not the same for the offshore sector, said Henrik Hannus, vice president of floating wind and aquaculture at the company.
