Norway exported 151,000 metric tons of seafood in April with a value of NOK 6.8 billion (€721.4 million/$787 million), a 23 percent fall in volume and 7 percent drop in value compared with the same period a year earlier.

A decline in salmon exports was behind the fall in volume, as the country exported 60,000 metric tons of the product in April, 11 percent or 8,800 metric tons less than last year during the same period.

However, the value of salmon exports remained flat year-on-year due to the strong prices, according to the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC).
