At the end of last year, UK retailer The Co-operative Group (Co-Op) appointed Aisla Jones as its new fish sustainability manager.

Previously with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Jones worked on a number of seafood sustainability initiatives with a particular focus on tuna, before joining the group.

The Co-op has a rigorous policy on seafood sourcing and constantly monitors its own-brand fresh and frozen fish ranges to ensure they have been sourced in a responsible fashion.

It has also been a member of the Sustainable Seafood Coalition (SSC) since 2011, which aims to bring together major businesses to make real changes in the fishing industry.
