Chilean salmon producers can now turn to the task of restoring the Chinese market following the end of a seven-day national truckers strike that prevented shipments to main markets in the United States and Brazil.

Producers earmarked September as the likely month to start their comeback into China after Chinese consumers and retailers shunned Chilean salmon products following the discovery in June of COVID-19 on the chopping board of a seller of imported salmon at Beijing's main wholesale seafood market, Arturo Clement, president of trade group SalmonChile, told IntraFish.
