Norwegian salmon exports saw a weak month in July, mainly because of an ongoing lack of demand from Asia and specifically China, according to the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC).

Consumers and importers in Asia are still shying away from Norwegian salmon following a coronavirus scare in June.

Many Chinese buyers halted imports of salmon, and the fish was removed from supermarket shelves after traces of the coronavirus were found on a chopping board used to cut salmon at a large food market in Beijing.
