Lower cost private label brands are flourishing in the face of the UK's cost-of-living crisis, which shows no sign of ending anytime soon.

Eighteen months into the crisis driven by soaring energy prices and food inflation levels not seen the 1970s, consumers are finding most things more expensive forcing them to cut back on spending.

Household budgets have been squeezed by 14 consecutive interest rate hikes, the latest at the beginning of August as the UK's independent central bank, the Bank of England, tries to bring down inflation from above 11 percent in October 2022 to its target level of 2 percent.
