Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF) is optimistic about the future of Thai shrimp in a new post-pandemic era.

The demand for safe and sustainable shrimp products is set to soar, according to the Thai food giant, with more and more consumers cooking at home, and a long-term trend of increased shrimp sold at retail rather than just at foodservice.

The accelerating shift towards retailing will likely benefit those countries that are good at making retail products such as Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand, said Sujint Thammasart, CPF's COO for its aquaculture business, who added that consumers want more than just a safe and hygenic food.
