Norwegian caviar producer Polarfisk said it is confident in succeeding with trial production of Russian caviar from its farmed sturgeon -- and that an eager market awaits.

At the same time, the company, which is the only company in Norway with a license for sturgeon farming, wants raise NOK 30 million-40 million ($3 million-$5 million/€3 million-€4 million) in new equity.

Polarfisk CEO Anker Bergli said while the company has announced it was close to trial production before, this announcement is different.
