The European Union (EU) has left seafood off a list of restrictive measures aimed at Russia following its invasion of Ukraine as the EU steps up sanctions in a coordinated move with the United States.

While President Joe Biden included seafood in a ban on several signature Russian sectors, the European Union did not announce such a step on Friday.

Both the European Union and the United States plan to deny Russia most favored nation (MFN) status and say they will work to suspend Russia's membership rights in global financial institutions, including the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank so that Vladimir Putin's regime cannot obtain financing, loans, or any other benefits from these institutions.
