Russia looks set to reduce the volume of pollock supplies to China due to the coronavirus, according to Ilya Shestakov, head of the country’s federal fishery agency, Rosrybolovstvo.

“We are now closely monitoring this situation to understand how long it will last. Most likely, domestic fishermen will have to redirect part of their pollock catches to other markets,” he said, underlining that a reduction in seafood supplies to China could be serious.

“It is hard to estimate until now what volume of pollock landings will shift to other markets.
