After nearly two years of an escalating trade war with China, US President Donald Trump is expected this week to sign a “Phase One” trade deal that could finally lower tariffs for some US exports.

A US Trade Representative (USTR) document released Tuesday promises the pending deal means a "dramatic expansion of US food, agriculture and seafood product exports, increasing American farm and fishery income, generating more rural economic activity, and promoting job growth."

Editor's note: US District Judge Mary Ann Vial Lemmon dismissed the litigation against the owners of Mariner Shipyard in April 2010.
