The UK government has been forced to rethink its latest COVID policies after heavy criticism from food industry executives, and will now allow workers to undergo daily testing at vital food distribution centers.

In an update late on Thursday, around 10,000 workers in the food supply chain industry will now be exempt from COVID-19 self-isolation rules, although this does not include supermarket staff, Sky News reported.

As many as 500 distribution centers and food supply chain hubs have been identified where workers could be part of the initiative.
