UK sushi giant Itsu is removing wild yellowfin tuna from its menu by the end of the year because of its concern relating to overfishing in the Indian Ocean.

Instead, the tuna will be replaced with sustainably farmed jumbo prawns, said the group.

A report was published by the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission (IOTC) in February that showed yellowfin tuna stocks were under threat from over fishing.

To preserve the amount of yellowfin tuna in the Indian Ocean, fishing must be reduced by at least 30 percent, the report said.
