Norway-based salmon farmer Kvaroy Arctic has been named Whole Foods perishable supplier of the year, the company announced Monday.

The annual awards recognized 42 suppliers selected by buyers, category experts and other leaders within Whole Foods Market.

Additionally, South Carolina-based Yonges Island Fish Company was awarded "Rookie of the Year" honors, and Alaska-based Alaska Glacier Seafoods received top honors in the retail supermarket chain's "Quality and Innovation" category.
