The global COVID-19 pandemic has put farmed salmon producers in a strong position to go all out with branding efforts but it will require serious commitment and some risk-taking, Acme Smoked Fish Chief Marketing Officer Teresa Low said during a the IntraFish 2021 Salmon Summit earlier this month.

In recent years, the market has seen the arrival of Ventisqueros' coho brand Silverside, and Kvaroy Fiskeoppdrett's Artic Salmon brand and most notably, farmed salmon giant Mowi's massive brand push, but in Low's view there is much more the industry can be doing.
