The top executive at Peruvian fisheries giant Pesquera Diamante says Chinese fishmeal companies could be gaining privileged information about the upcoming fishing season in north central waters, the most important source of raw material for the aquaculture feed industry.

Pesquera Diamante CEO Pablo Trapunsky said in a LinkedIn post and interview with IntraFish that a Chinese market report he read is predicting that the actual season would begin in the first week of May -- information that has not been released by the Peruvian government.
