Runaway household inflation and fallout from the global container shipping crisis are just two of the factors threatening to derail the annual Easter bonanza for cod suppliers in the Brazilian market.

The success or failure of cod sales at Easter, the peak season for sales in Brazil, may hinge on whether vendors have been able to secure supplies this year.

That's the view of Marcelo Nasser, commercial director in Brazil for Portuguese producer Riberalves, who said some cod importers are struggling to get product into the country at the time they need it most.
