Health, finances spark sea change in EU seafood purchasing patterns

The trends emerge in a bi-annual report published by the European Commission, which sheds light on consumer buying habits.

But around a tenth of respondents of seafood products, said their consumption has decreased in four product groups: fresh products (including live) (12 percent); frozen raw fish (10 percent); smoked, salted, dried or products in brine (10 percent) and frozen prepared or processed fish (9 percent) since the pandemic began.
