Younger consumers, such as millennials and Generation Z, were a hot topic at the North Atlantic Seafood Forum (NASF) in Bergen last week, as many industry experts reported that the demographic was having a big impact on purchasing decisions in the seafood sector.

Half of the US market, for example, is currently made up of millenials and Generation Z, reported Egil Sundheim of the Norway Seafood Council.

"They are influencing a lot of [consumers in] Generation X. This is where the majority of decisions are being made," Sundheim said during his presentation.
