First MSC-certified yellowfin tuna hits shelves of UK retailer Waitrose

Retailer Waitrose is exclusively launching the first-ever Marine Stewardship Council (MSC)-certified yellowfin and albacore tuna in the UK market.

The retailer has pledged that by 2025 it will only source third-party-certified products across its wild-caught seafood range.

Together with its supplier, New England Seafood International, it has taken the retailer more than 10 years of working with its suppliers, governments and NGOs to bring these tuna products to market, with an aim for all stores to stock them by mid-2022.
