The value of Scotland's salmon exports grew by 9 percent to £306 million ($388 million/€355 million) in the first half of the year, with major growth experienced in markets in Asia and the United States.

The volume of exports, however, slipped 3 percent to 31,737 metric tons, according to new figures released by Scottish salmon farming trade group Salmon Scotland.

Seventy percent of Scotland's salmon exports go to the EU, where in the first half of the year export volume fell by 11 percent to 19,900 metric tons.
