E-commerce has grown to become a dynamic retail channel for the seafood industry over the last pandemic-filled year, yet it has more to do if it is to continue growing sales, according to panelists at the Norway-UK Seafood Summit held Jan. 20.

Certain advantages with the direct online model include convenience, transparency, choice, speed-to-market, measurability and brand presentation, among others.

The disruptive effect of online giants such as Amazon over the pandemic period has been less apparent in food grocery, as many traditional retailers ramped up their online experience in the United Kingdom.
