A Massachusetts seafood group whose members include restaurant chain Legal Seafoods, Boston Sword & Tuna and the New Bedford Buyers and Sellers Exchange (BASE) have joined a growing list of US companies and lawmakers who want sanctions on Russian fish imports.

Mark DeCristoforo, executive director of the Massachusetts Seafood Collaborative, told IntraFish that while key processor members of the collaborative import Russian pollock, they find it more important right now to send a message that "chooses values over economic interests."
