Thai seafood giant Charoen Pokphand Foods will introduce plant-based meat substitutes this year in response to growing customer demand, reports Asian Agribiz.

CEO Prasit Boondoungprasert said the products will be sold in Thailand first before being rolled out to the rest of Asia.

“This follows the global trend of ‘flexitarians’ – people who have vegetarian meals once or twice a week and restaurants can offer this option as well,” he said.
