There are increasing opportunities for Norwegian salmon processors during the coronavirus pandemic as growing numbers of consumers look to pre-packed products at retail, said Norwegian Seafood Council Seafood Analyst Paul Aandahl.

In France alone, home consumption of Norwegian salmon grew 21 percent in volume over the same period last year, as the species gained shelf space in stores.

The Chinese market has also reached its previous levels of demand for Norwegian salmon, as logistics to the region improved and the country begins to normalize activity levels and demand.
