Agrosuper-owned salmon farmer AquaChile said Friday it's opening up a new front in its sales and marketing efforts by sending weekly fresh whole salmon to a range of countries across Europe for the first time.

The company called the move a "milestone," particularly given that the European market is dominated by fresh, consistent supply of whole farmed salmon from Norway.

AquaChile is already by far the largest supplier of Chilean salmon to Europe, but the formats have been traditionally sent frozen.
