Today, Some 20 cents of every food dollar is being spent via e-commerce, representing a significant change from just five years ago. But will consumers continue to buy seafood online once the pandemic is a faded memory?

"I believe so," Rick Stein, vice president of fresh foods at FMI, a food industry association representing US food retailers, wholesalers and suppliers, told IntraFish.

But to sustain the progress made in e-commerce the ball is in the court of retailers to make their websites more user friendly, he said.
