New York's Acme Smoked Fish said Tuesday its smoked Atlantic salmon candy, offering a twist on the traditional Pacific Northwest's "salmon candy," is now available at Stop & Shop locations throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York and New Jersey.
The major New York-based smoked salmon producer and distributor sees its smoked Atlantic salmon candy as yet another way for the company to compete with private label, and has been expanding offerings in this category in recent years.
Last October Acme acquired Massachusetts-based smoked seafood company Spence & Co.
