For the past five years the Maine Lobster Marketing Collaborative (MLMC) has focused its efforts on chefs and consumers, acknowledging the majority of seafood is eaten in restaurants. But its new interim executive director told IntraFish one group in particular will be the focus this year.

Marianne LaCroix, who was appointed to the role in February, said that while Maine lobster's sustainability, taste and versatility has been well received by chef's and consumers, it is more often the distributor who is unwilling to ship lobster to a chef, and ultimately, the consumer's plate.
