Last week dozens of plaintiffs filed amended complaints in the ongoing antitrust lawsuits cases against the biggest US tuna producers for allegedly conspiring to fix canned tuna prices, which violates the Sherman Act as well as various state consumer protection laws.

The deadline to file amended complaints last week coincided with the Department of Justice (DOJ)'s announcement of Bumble Bee Foods' agreement to plead guilty for its role in a conspiracy to fix the prices of shelf-stable tuna fish, such as canned and pouch tuna, sold in the United States.
